A Christian                   A Puritan                      A Clergyman

John White believed that his faith should lead to action. The idea that faith might be a private matter probably never occurred to him. He had God's work to do. Then or course, the national, political and religious situation at the time forced people to make public choices. John White made his choices and stuck to them : Christian, Puritan and clergyman.
