Lord, help me today to be faithful in following wherever you may lead me.  With those words from Praying Together Lent 2017, we began our Annual General Meeting at St Mary’s on the 2nd March 2017.

From the 25th April until the 28th April we shall be putting the prayer into action, as we visit our neighbours on the Castle Park estate.  The four days of prayer and outreach will focus on delivering our welcome pack and asking people if they have prayer requests.

The worshipping community already deliver a Christmas and Easter card to neighbours on Victoria Park, so we are used to visiting!  This mission activity might find some of us beyond our comfort zone, but we will not be out there alone!

While some of us are visiting homes, others will be in St Mary’s Church praying for the people in the roads we are visiting, as well as for the people knocking on doors and saying ‘Hello!’

We need people to visit on the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 5.30pm and 7.30pm; we also need people in church praying on those four days.  Sign up forms are in church during April and I would encourage you to join us!

We are praying more in church because of the two services of Evening Prayer on Monday and Thursday, the Tea@4 and the more regular Healing Eucharist’s.  We are growing new ministries in the teams associated with our worshipping life.  And we serve our neighbours.

We are a welcoming church and we now need to go out and share our good news, tell how much people are loved by God, show people how much Jesus does in our lives.  We are making progress serving our local area and thank you.

From the 25th April until the 28th April is another opportunity to respond to the love Jesus has poured into our lives, to put into action the joy we feel as disciples.  Lord, help me today to be faithful in following wherever you may lead me.  Amen.
