St. Peter’s Church Choir, which numbers about two dozen members, has a large repertoire and sings sacred music from the renaissance period to the modern day. We believe that everyone who has an interest in singing in a church choir should have the opportunity to do so and no auditions take place. However, we strive for exacting standards and pride ourselves in our professionalism, welcoming new members: children, young people and adults in a friendly environment.
We have two choral scholarships available each year for 16-18 year old singers. Choir practice is every Friday, 7.15pm-8.15pm in church. The choir sings at the Sung Eucharist every Sunday at 10.30am, at special services such as Nine Lessons and Carols and Midnight Mass and at occasional funerals and weddings. This year we hope to start a monthly Choral Evensong too.
