An evening with Terry Waite CBE

Terry Waite is an English humanitarian and author who came to prominence when in 1987 he was kidnapped and held hostage for nearly five years by a Lebanese terrorist group, the first four years of which were in solitary confinement.

The first half of the evening will comprise a time of reflections on Terry Waite’s life.  After an interval there will be a time for audience questions followed by an opportunity to purchase three of his books; Taken on Trust,an account of his time in captivity, and two more recent books Out of the Silence and Solitude.

  • from Saturday 22nd September onwards during opening hours at the Shire Hall Historic Courthouse Museum, High West Street,  Dorchester.
  • on Wednesday 14th November, tickets on the door from 6.30 p.m. subject to availability.
