A new Team Rector for Dorchester and the Winterbournes

A message from The Bishop of Sherborne Rev Karen Gorham:

I am pleased to announce that the Lord Chancellor has approved the appointment of the Revd Keith Magee as Team Rector of Dorchester and the Winterbournes. Keith is currently Vicar of St Peter’s Church, Braunstone Park – a large urban parish in the diocese of Leicester. He trained at Westcott House Theological College Cambridge and was ordained in 2001.

Keith brings much experience of parish ministry to the post, including significant pastoral and community gifts. Prior to his current post Keith has held incumbencies in Knighton, Leicester and the Chelmsford Diocese.

Keith feels very much called by God to this post and those involved in the appointment believe him to be the right person to build a team across the County Town and work with deanery and team colleagues to reach out in mission and ministry. Archdeacon Penny and I very much look forward to welcoming Keith and his wife Ruth in the Autumn and wish to thank all those who were involved in the appointment process.

Now the Team Rector appointment has been made, with Keith’s input, we can proceed with the appointment of the Team Vicar to St George’s and further discussion about the role description and responsibilities of the fourth and final member of the team.

Bishop Karen

Keith’s last service in Braunstone Park will be on Sunday 25th October 2020. We look forward to meeting him after that date.
