Two carol singing events in Dorchester in December raised over £500 between them.
The first took place in Tesco's on the evening of the 23rd. A group of singers organised by the Dorchester committee of the Children's Society, accompanied by Allen Knott on guitar and Steve Kinnersley on keyboard, sang carols and Christmas favourites for 2 hours, raising £307.87 for the charity.
The second took place outside Barclays Bank - on a day of torrential rain. On Christmas Eve, an intrepid group sang Christmas carols in South Street for an hour. Organiser Bill North said: "We got rather wet, but made £200 for Christian Aid, which was twice as much as last year."
Thanks to all those who sang, played or gave money.
