Healing Ministry at St Mary's

There are 6 members of the healing prayer group who meet regularly to pray for the sick and on a rota basis offer prayer ministry after every Mass on a Sunday in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. There is a votive candle stand and a book for prayer requests which are offered up each Sunday.

During the year a Meditative Communion with Prayers for Wholeness and Healing takes place on the 2nd Sunday: 8th Jan   12th  March  14th  May  9th  July  10th Sept 12th November in 2017 at 6pm, where the laying on of hands and anointing is offered.

Taizé

St Mary’s has conducted regular Taizé worship on the 1st Sunday of each month for over twenty years, attracting an ecumenical congregation from Dorchester and the surrounding area. The service is ‘authentic’ in its format and content and is run by a team of 7, including its two team leaders who create a new service sheet each month based on church seasons and themes. The quality of the music is extremely high and over the years we have been able to introduce new chants by teaching a core group of singers who are regular attenders. All are welcome to join us at 6 pm on the 1st Sunday of the month for this special, deeply spiritual and atmospheric worship experience. Give yourself time and space to be in the presence of God during the eight minute silence. Listen to the prayers and join in the chants or just remain silent, letting the music penetrate your being.
